About SELNET:

From a European Horizon 2020 Project to an Independent Global Network

SELNET originated as a collaborative project funded by the European Union through the Horizon 2020 programme (Grant Agreement No. 825806). This project, developed between 2019 and 2023, brought together institutions, clinicians and researchers from Europe and Latin America to strengthen cooperation in the field of sarcomas.

In order to clearly differentiate this initial stage from the current situation, the consortium now refers to that period as “SELNET 1.0“.

Following the end of European funding, in 2024 the members decided to establish SELNET as an independent, non-profit association, which is no longer part of the European project framework. This new phase—internally referred to as “SELNET 2.0″—consolidates and expands the work begun during the Horizon 2020 project.

Currently, SELNET 2.0 continues this mission as an autonomous and permanent network, promoting scientific collaboration, multidisciplinary clinical work, observational research, registries, and educational initiatives in more than 70 institutions in Europe and Latin America.
