We are the only exclusively oncological public hospital in the country, therefore we are the reference centre for cancer in Bolivia, which means that we receive patients from all over Bolivia. . The Institute has oncological surgery services (digestive surgery, vascular surgery, thoracic surgery, traumatology, head and neck surgery, urology, neurosurgery, anaesthesiology), mastology, gynaecological oncology, radiotherapy and oncology. Mastology, gynaecological oncology, radiotherapy, clinical oncology, haematology, paediatrics, intensive care, palliative care, pain unit, pathology, imaging and supporting specialties (internal medicine, nephrology, infectious diseases). Care is subdivided by tumour type, so there are tumour committees dedicated to these (tumour committees for mastology, gynaecology, surgery, urology, sarcoma, melanoma and head and neck).

La Red de Centros de Medicina Nuclear y Radioterapia (CMNyR), dependiente de la Agencia Boliviana de Energía Nuclear (ABEN), es la principal infraestructura estatal en Bolivia para el diagnóstico y tratamiento del cáncer mediante técnicas nucleares. Cuenta con tres centros operativos en La Paz, El Alto y Santa Cruz, todos equipados con tecnología avanzada, como equipos PET/CT y SPECT/CT en medicina nuclear, aceleradores lineales (LINAC), sistemas de braquiterapia de alta dosis y simuladores de TC para radioterapia. Además, ofrece atención en oncología clínica, quimioterapia, terapia del dolor, nutrición y psicología, lo que permite una atención integral enfocada en mejorar la calidad de vida del paciente.
La Red Boliviana de Centros de Medicina Nuclear y Radioterapia (CMNyR) cuenta con tecnología de punta para el diagnóstico y tratamiento del cáncer. Cada centro cuenta con equipos de tomografía por emisión de positrones (PET/CT) y tomografía computarizada por emisión de fotón único (SPECT/CT), que permiten la detección temprana y precisa de diversas patologías oncológicas y no oncológicas. En cuanto al tratamiento, cuentan con aceleradores lineales de alta precisión (LINAC) para radioterapia externa, así como sistemas de braquiterapia de alta tasa de dosis, que permiten tratar tumores con mínimo daño al tejido sano.
Además de los servicios de imagenología molecular y radioterapia, los centros ofrecen oncología clínica, quimioterapia ambulatoria, consulta multidisciplinaria, psicooncología, nutrición oncológica, medicina paliativa y terapia del dolor, lo que facilita una atención integral a los pacientes con cáncer. Este enfoque multidisciplinario, respaldado por equipos médicos especializados y personal en continua capacitación, posiciona a la red como una de las más avanzadas de la región. Los servicios son gratuitos a través del Sistema Único de Salud (SUS), lo que garantiza un acceso equitativo y de calidad a tratamientos oncológicos complejos en el sistema público boliviano.
