We are a non-profit civil association, of a foundational type. Income from medical care operations is used exclusively for the development of different models of medical services, health science education and fundamental and applied biomedical research, as well as for community and social outreach. We provide excellent comprehensive medical care services with an emphasis on prevention, diagnosis and treatment. Educational and community activities are the essence of the Institution and our greatest contribution to the community as an added value.

Our institution aims to:

Establish and manage clinics, hospitals or other health care centres
Base for the provision of medical and health care services and for the development of studies in health sciences and for the advancement of medical, allied and auxiliary sciences.

Promote and organise studies, courses and other scientific activities
aimed at the training and improvement of students and professionals in the medical, related and auxiliary sciences. To promote courses and activities for community health education, especially in the field of prevention.

Promote studies and scientific research
Basic and clinical research in the different medical, related and auxiliary disciplines, creating or helping to support study and research centres of high scientific level, organising scholarship systems, educational credits and other support systems for students and professionals, adequate for the realisation and improvement of studies in medicine, related and auxiliary sciences.

Continuing with the development of
represents one of the most important social objectives of our institution. This programme offers, among other services, assistance to low-income patients from rural and marginal urban communities in the municipalities of Baruta and El Hatillo, through activities carried out directly in the communities by volunteers from our centre.

The Instituto Oncológico La Sagrada Familia, part of the La Sagrada Familia Health Organisation, operates in Maracaibo (Zulia state) and has established itself as one of the main private oncology care centres in the west of the country. With an outstanding track record in oncological surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy – including brachytherapy – it provides comprehensive personalised care to patients with malignant tumours. The institute is equipped with modern technology, including a state-of-the-art linear accelerator for precision treatment, and has treated more than 3,600 patients in almost a decade of operation.
